Planning and Zoning Commissioner Vacancies
The Village of Poplar Grove is currently seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the Planning and Zoning Commission. This vacancy was created by the resignation of Commissioner Melissa Robinson, who has stepped down due to personal reasons. Her term was set to expire on April 30, 2028. An additional vacancy was created due to the term expiring of Commissioner Matthew Mack on April 30, 2026. The filled vacancy term will expire April 30, 2031.
In accordance with the Illinois Municipal Code, vacancies on the Planning and Zoning Commission are filled by appointment of the Village President, with the advice and consent of the Village Board.
To be eligible for appointments, applicants must meet the following requirements under Illinois Municipal Code:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have been a resident of Village of Poplar Grove for at least one (1) year
- Be eligible to vote
Planning and Zoning Commissioners serve at-large and represent the entire Village rather than a specific district. The Commission meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. on an as-needed basis.
